How to set up Inventory to use Stock Alert

Just want to set up inventory and be able to utilise stock alert for when stock is low for re-ordering purposes.

Inventory Items are drums of cable, every drum has it own unique drum number (have set up Part Number for each type of cable), cable is sold and ordered by the drum

eg cable00 - standard drum is 500mtrs -

Order placed for 2 Drums x 500mtrs using Part Number

2 x Drums recevied - One Drum is numbered 100, One Drum is numbered 101

I enter in inventory Drum no. 100

Ticking-

I buy this item

I sell this item

I inventory this item

Enter Part Number as set up for this type of cable

Buy unit of measure is Metre

Number of items per buying unit is 1

Selling unit of measure is Metre

Number of items per selling unit is 1

Enter details in Restocking including a qty in restocking alert and reordering alert

 

After receipting the Purchase Order from supplier if I run the Stock Alert report from the To Do List will report produce details on the Part Number and include stock on hand, committed and on order?

For an item to appear in the To Do List Stock Alert tab or Inventory>>To Do List>> To Do List - Stock Alert report the item's available quantity would need to be below the Minimum Level for Restocking Alert. To see the available quantity of an item you would go Inventory>>Items List>>Select the chosen item and it would be on the right hand side of the Profile tab. To see the Item's Minimum Level for Restocking Alert you would select the Buying Details tab of the item's card.

In terms of the To Do List - Stock Alert report, when that item does appear you will be able to see the item number, name and on hand, on order and committed values. You can add in additional information using the Insert/Modify tab>>Show Hide columns.
