Importing Data from AccountEdge to AccountRight

Hi,

I am aware there is no direct way to upgrade an Account Edge file on Mac to AccountRight on Windows,

So we are manually exporting data from Mac and Importing on Windows.

All seems to have been going ok untill importing the Transaction Journal,

There are a large number of the below "Unexpected error"

Any assistance in getting this resolved would be appreciated.

Error 0: Unexpected import error - An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http://localhost:16984/GatewayService.svc. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details.

Error 0: Unexpected import error - There was no endpoint listening at http://localhost:16984/GatewayService.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

Error 0: Unexpected import error - (Unknown):

Re: Importing Data from AccountEdge to AccountRight

Hi @RedEdge

Those error messages look unusual - not sure why there would be an involvement of http - I assume therefore that your file is online. Given you said the imports seem to be going ok, I guess by now you would know it is far quicker to import while the file is offline. Importing into AR2015 is normally very slow - lot's of forum complaints on this issue, however doing it while the file is online is even slower.

You would also be aware several fields are different between AE(and v19) and AR2015 and you will need to add some calculated fields. You will also find ceratin things do not get exported and therefore cannot be imported, such as Pay Bills, Receive Payments, Payroll, recurring transactions, Payroll Categories etc.

FYI - your opening statement is no longer correct. There is a company that can convert your file from AE to v19 (or to AR2015). There is a fee involved (around $200) but in most cases well worth it. Saves all the hassles of importing and you get your file exactly as it was in AE, with all history etc, something importing cannot do. PM me if you would like their contact details.

Regards

Gavin

Re: Importing Data from AccountEdge to AccountRight

Hi Gavin,

The file is in the Local Library, not online at all.

Yes, the import process is indeed very slow.

As for the conversion, This is great news.

Will send you a PM for details.
