No SET AN OFFLINE PASSWORD OPTION when inviting new advisor to file

Hi

I am trying to invite a "new advisor" so that I can give my accountant access to my MYOB file.  The MYOB instructions online say to do the following:-

  1. Type the advisor’s name in the User name field.

  2. Enter the advisor's email address in the Email field. This must be the email address that they use to log into my.MYOB. Note that the email address must have 35 characters or less.

  3. Click the set an offline password link. Specify a password for them to enter when the file is offline (for example, when it's checked out, when restoring a backup, or when my.MYOB authentication isn't available.

I can do the first two steps, but can't do step 3. as there is no "set an offline password" link that I can see.

What steps am I supposed to following to invite my accountant?

Thanks

Lisa_H

Re: No SET AN OFFLINE PASSWORD OPTION when inviting new advisor to file

Hi @Lisa_H

It looks like a change was made recently to that window that prevents that option from being shown*. I would recommend unchecking - This user will sign on with a my.MYOB account. This will generate the password fields allowing them to be entered. Once entered, select Save before selecting the This user will sign on with a my.MYOB account prompt and entering the email address.

*I've followed up with the Help Article team to have that help article reviewed for the future.

EDIT: Our Help Article team have reviewed that Help article and remove that password section to avoid unnecessary confusion.

Kind regards,
Steven

Thanks Steven.  This seems to have worked from my side of things.  Will find out from my accountant if it worked at his end in due course!
