P&L BV when exported to excel shows wrong colour code

When exporting a budget variance P&L to Excel i find the colours are wrong.  (IE Black good, Red bad).  The income lines are correct but the expense lines show red for anything UNDER budget and black for anything OVER budget;  Which is very confusing for the end user.  Anyone have any ideas other than having to insert formulas which is time consuming.
