Re: Difference between JournalRecords and GeneralJournal

Hi @Pansa90

When you record a transaction, this transaction is recorded in the transaction journal. This will show you the accounts which are affected along with the debits and credits amounts. The JournalRecord table replicates information displayed within that Transaction Journal Window. The GeneralJournal records are a "member" of the JournalRecord table. These are transactions that have been recorded via the Record a Journal Entry window.

Basically, in short, the JournalRecord table is a table that showcases all transactions available via the Transaction Journals including transactions record via a General Journal entry which has its own table (GeneralJournal).

More information about these tables are covered in MYOB ODBC Direct User Guide (which I have attached) - Pages 79 -84.

I've also moved this thread to one of the AccountRight boards.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Difference between JournalRecords and GeneralJournal

Hi Steven

Many thanks for your response. That makes sense. Could you clarify if the JournalRecord table also stores the (a)cost centres/dimensions and (b) journal numbers

Regards

Saurabh
