lock period with inventory error

Hi  Sabastien,   I have read  your  notes below  you sent  to another person.  I also  have this issue,  but  am on  Acc Right  Plus   AU  2015.  v4.0.   2015.4.17.5484

And we use  Citrix  to access  file  on line.   How  can we  fix  this error  please,  as  I need to lock the dates  so  people   dont  back post, and create  a  mess  for me.

Thanks for your query.


The message relates to a corruption in your file that has been noted as known issue in this current version. I have advised the Product Specialist and they have managed to run a script on your online file that should fix the error. Please check your file now to see if the message still appears when attempting to lock the current period.

Also please check your current updates as the latest one is the AccountRight Live 2015.3 version, your current version is two years old and out of date. Do not hesitate to contact us again if you have further problems as we are more than happy to help.

Hi @STONE

 

We are more than happy to arrange for a script to be run over the company file. For us to arrange this we would need to grab:

  • the exact wording on the message and when exactly it is occurring
  • where the company file is saved? i.e. locally or online. 
    If the file is online, the LAST FOUR digits of the serial number would be appreciated.

Hi,  Sebastien,   see attached screen shots of  errors.   The file  is  kept on a server  , thru our  IT  service

Its  not online..

I've sent you a direct email with all the details in regards to getting that file sent in for an investigation and possible repair. All the information required is included in the email but do let us know if you have any questions about the process.

Also while we have the file we do encourage you to continue to work on the company file, the repair team will be in contact once they have taken a closer look at your file.

Thanks Steven,   the myob team have meiled me, and  i sent file  friday. Now they have sent back with email instructions.  But  I  just wish to know,  If  i restore the  fixed  file they returned, what happens to all the work i did on friday....will i lose this ?

Great to hear that the team have gotten back to you with a fixed file.

As mentioned they have sent you a copy of the repaired file, we do recommend that you restore and check that file to ensure that it has been resolved. If you have worked on the file after sending it in, as indicated in the email, please create a new backup of the file and upload it to the FTP account then reply to the email sent to let the team know its available. This way they can run the same repair over the current file.  Please note that typically the return of the updated file can take a day or so. Anything entered into the file while we have this current file would need to be reentered into the returned file.

Ok Steven, i see.   I had  thought  the email, had  said, we  can still continue to  work with the file, after we sent it.  So  inotherwords,  I need  to  resend the file over again.  but next time, dont  enter any work,  until  we get the  repaired file  back again.   sorry  if  i sound  confused,   thanks for your help.
