Report: Analyse Sales [Item] - Include orders

We often make sales where item is not currently in stock and therefore customer orders, pays deposit and we have to enter this in MYOB as an ORDER rather than an INVOICE. This is fine but then when we want to see a break-up of our monthly sales in the "analyse sales (item multi period)" report, we do not have the option to include ORDERS in this report - it only shows INVOICED sales. We want to see an order that was placed in a particular month appear in this report as for our business purposes, it was still a SALE in that particular month (it's just that the item wasn't in stock at that point in time to be able to enter it as an invoice). We love this particular report because it includes each individual item (product) as well as monthly break up (including total $'s) but really need it to include our ORDERS as well as our INVOICES to make it a useful tool for our business. NB: Even if it is just an option to be able to select in the 'filters', that would be good - eg. include invoices, orders, quotes, open invoices, closed invoices, etc. & we can just tick which ever ones best suit our business needs!

Reporting on Item Sales Invoices, Sales Orders and Quotes as a combination of all is not currently possible from standard MYOB as you noted.

Just wanted to let you know that some of the MYOB Add-on solutions will be able to let you do this type of advanced reporting.

As an example our Business Intelligence software BI4Cloud comes with many standard reports, very focused on Sales Inventory, Jobs etc.

One report we have allows you to report on the one page Item Sales, Item Orders and Item Quotes. You can then filter to include all or exclude quotes etc.

See a sample screen shot below, here I have also run this as a:

Monthly sales report by Item
Grouped the Items by Item Group ( using one of the Custom Lists)
Displaying Qty, $ Sales and also Margin %, I have hidden other fields like Ave Price, COGS, Gross Profit etc.

This type of report could also be run to compare to the same peiord, month or year to date last year etc.
