Sales: In Tray - attach documents

 I have seen the in tray for purchases and ask if there are any plans to add an in tray to the sales invoice side. It would be very helpful to us as a solar installation company to store all compliance and design pdfs with the installation sale record, so that over time we when we re-visit the sale record we can find all of that in one place.

Hi @PET 

Thank you for your idea in regards to AccountRight and sale transactions.

Currently the In Tray can be used for purchases only. I would encourage other users that would like to see the ability to upload documents to be read for Sale transactions/an "Out Tray" to vote and comment if required.

Could you please add the capability to attach documents to Sales and to General Journal entries in AccountRight?

This post was originally put up in 2015.  It's now 2020 and I would like to know if there is now a way to attach information to a sale (like the attachment ability in purchases).  The attachment is just for our records, to keep supporting info with the invoice. Please advise

Hello Britt,
No - MYOB has a system of Ranking a suggestion by vote, - which essentially means this will not have even got into thier radar yet.

The ranking system does them no favours and they are happy with it is seems – essentially they and are not interested in breaking ground to move ahead of the competition like most businesses have to, to merely survive 😊
You will need either 3rd party ERP or set up your own system on your own server onedrive/s

harepoint or some other system in a cloud storage.

this would be very helpful to be able to add fabrication diagrams and customer purchase orders to a particular invoice.

Wondering if MYOB plans on implementing an attachment feature/I tray  for sales invoices,  we collect photos, diagrams, plans. Visitor Sign In/sign outrequirements , job sheets etc when doing a job. We don't email these documents as part of our invoices, although this feature would be a  great additional option for those times when needed.   Having all documentation in relation to a particular job is extremely important for warranty,  insurance and any possible legal issues especially for the home building/trades. We currently are saving these documents in our email cloud service.

Hello I also would like an InTray for Sales, Invoices, Receive Money as well as being able to attach important documents to Journals so the Accountants and Auditors can have easy access to the information regarding each journal.  I can do this with the majority of the other programs.  I understand that it is probably because this sofware is still PC Based, even though the data is on the Cloud.  The download speed is great but the upload is woeful!

Alot of businesses out there will be trying to go paperless these days... The ability to attach documents to invoices (Sales) would be greatly beneficial saving time and money... Eg. Attaching customers purchase orders to the invoice etc...

 

I was gob smacked to see this post started in 2015! 5 years on there is still no change? This is rather sad, especially for users of MYOB that have been loyal for years...

 

I wonder how many users have made the switch to other Accounting software?

 

MYOB why is this taking so long to implement when it's already available for purchases?

 

I might add it would also be great to have the ability to attach documents whilst it's in it's "Order" form and not only after it's been converted to a bill..

 

Scenario... We would like to be able to attach a Proforma Invoice, Shipping Docs, Customs Clearance Paperwork etc to an Order but are unable to until it's been converted to a Bill (Purchases).

 

MYOB what is the issue and why is this taking so long?

Xero has an option where you can attach documents to pretty much every transaction, MYOB should too!

For Sales in Xero, you can toggle wether you want the attchment to be sent to the customer when you send the invoice, or just have it attached for your own records - c'mon MYOB, get with the times!

I use myob essentials. Would love to see an in tray for sales on that.

Does that mean we should start up a new suggestion thread that is capable of being voted on?  It seems like such a logical option for MYOB to add.  We really need to get it on their radar!
