I have a client that quite often gets the message that the session has expired due to inactivity. While I (the bookeeper) am there, the file is always in use, so I rarely see this message.

The client would LOVE to be able to turn this function OFF. (they would then take full responsibility for the 'protection' of their file)

There has been more than one occasion when they have gone to MYOB, spent -in some cases condierable-time entering an invoice for a customer at the counter, on the phone or producing a quote, only to have the system say (at the END of the entry) that the session has expired, and having to re-enter all the information.

"Your session has expired"

Thankyou.

In 2013.3 it appears that the checked out file gets a session expired message way before when the file is checked in. I don't understand why this should be? With a checked out file why should there be a need for the session expired to ever show up - it never did with v19?

Please let us know if you plan to change this and if it will be in the next release.

Thanks

Hi Louise,

Thanks for the feedback.  I would recommend checking if their PC has power saving/sleep mode or screensavers enabled as this can also contribute towards the session expired message.

Geoff, it's interesting you have noticed an online file takes longer to display the message rather then when the file is checked out.  This may be due to the file syncing automatically every 20 minutes which keeps the software active.  I will make sure the our specialist team are aware of this.

Yes, I too have found this expired session feature that was added in the last update to be very annoying. Please provide an option to turn it off.

Thanks.

As a mechanic I use MYOB to do my invoicing and add lines as i progress throughout the day.

Often i come back to add a line on a sale and I get the session time out message andit shuts down.  This is very anoying  Can I suggest there be an option for this in settings?  '

Thanks

Tony

I agree this is very annoying, why can't the System Administrator change the session timeout limits.

Why are there Session Timeouts for MYOB used over a network?

V19 did not have timeout limits...why introduce timeouts?

Everytime one of our staff leaves their desk they have to shutdown MYOB so it doesn't affect other users being kicked off the system.  This is very frustrating especially for our customer service dept when they are constantly on the phone to clients and need long term access to MYOB.

This would be a usefull option if MYOB is able to implement this.
