2018 download doesnt work with 2017 version

Im setting up a new PC and have downloaded the latest version of Accountright to use on an existing account. I am unable to use MYOB with the new version until an update is done in the background.

Hi @PaulyT,

 

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of helpful information.

 

If you have clicked "Update Now" and the installer is not updating in the background, this could be caused for 1 of 2 reasons:

 

1. 3rd party software blocking the executing of the installer.

2. The Setup file downloaded has downloaded with an incorrect file extension.

 

The best way to go forward would be to download the installer manually and running it on your computer. You can download the latest version by looking at our help article: Getting the latest version (click here)

Thanks. I have done a clean install of the latest version on a new PC. When I go to log in there is a messag saying the company file needs updating.  Can you update Pls?

Hi @PaulyT,

 

That's great to hear.


When you have installed a new version and attempt to open the datafile online you will be presented with 1 of 2 windows:

 

Upgrade or Open?

temp.png

 

This means you are an Administrator of the Company File and you can just click "Yes, upgrading to 2018.1" to continue.

 

 

Your company file needs upgrading:

temp.png

 

This occurs if you are not an Administrator of the company file and do not have the permissions to upgrade to the latest software. You would require an Online Administrator to log in with 2018.1 and upgrade the file to the latest version.
