2020.2 - maximise screen settings

I have always worked in MYOB with the screen maximised. In ALL previous versions, you could select to save window sizes in the preferences options. In 2020.2, every time I complete an entry or open, close a screen, the screen reverts to the minimised screen - how can this be fixed??

Re: 2020.2 - maximise screen settings

@BASnBusiness

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find plenty of useful information.

I have just tested the Accoun Right with 3 of my clients file and in every case the "Save Windows size and location" preference works as normal. The only time it did not work was when I made the screen maximum size then it reverted back to the last size used when reopened.

I would NEVER use MYOB with the widows opened at maximum. It is much slower to open and close windows all the time than it is to just click from one to to another. When I teach MYOB I tell my students that anyone using maximized windows has either never been taught how to use MYOB correctly or is trying to waste time.

However if that is what you prefer to use that is up to you.

If my response to your query and has helped, please mark my post as a solution to help others in the future.

Re: 2020.2 - maximise screen settings

Hi @BASnBusiness

Yes, this is really really annoying in 2020.2
It's worse than the screen columns not remembering.

Lets hope they fix this one ASAP

AR 2020.2 issues

Since installing 2020.2 today, my windows keep resizing from "full screen" back to part screen every time I record a transaction. Irritating. Can you fix this glitch, please?

Re: 2020.2 - maximise screen settings

Hi @GDay53

I would love to be able to use a single window open at any one time, but in reality it's not possible.

You are in the middle of entering a sales invoice, not enough stock.

You then open the purchase order window to receive a supplier invoice.

The phone rings and askes you an item in stock so you open up the Inventory window.

Then a customer walks on and wants to make a payment to there account.

This is how AR20xx and legacy MYOB was designed to be used and should be able to handle it with on issues.

This is just one example of what happens each and every day.

The issue with the window sizing happens even if

Try this

Open AR2020.2

Select Sales Register

Maximize the screen so you can see what you are doing

Click Order

Change order to and Invoice and Record

Close the Sales - New Item Screen

AND the sales item register window is NOT full screen.

We then need to click Maximize again.

I must have hit maximize over 500 times today.

It does get annoying after the first 10 times.

Re: 2020.2 - maximise screen settings

I too have found the change frustrating.

What I have found.  if you open the windows and adjust them to be just slightly smaller than full screen, the size the retained the next time it's opened.  I even does it when the program is restarted.

Not perfect but a work around to put up with until they hopefully retifiy the issue.

Hi Everyone

Thank you for your feedback in regards to AccountRight 2020.2

We've passed that information and testing across to our team to look into that situation. However, in the meantime, @Bevan  has offered a great suggestion to work around this situation.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: 2020.2 - maximise screen settings

Hi Everyone

A quick update on this issue, for those clients, impacted.

Our product team has identified the cause of the error and are working through a fix for that particular issue. Due to the changes required to address that issue, a new installer would be required. However, we are looking into the possibility of a patch upgrade for those clients have already installed the 2020.2 version.

We'll have more details available once we have more information from our product and release teams.

Re: 2020.2 - maximise screen settings

Hi @Steven_M

Thanks for the update which is GREAT news Smiley Happy

I have have been using 2020.2 for 3-4  days now and have NOT had one Out of Memory Error, not one crash and not one invoice, remittance that hasn't printed.

There are still many many bugs that haven't been fixed that are annoying on a day to day basis.

I am sure there will be other issues that pop up with, but in general really happy with this release.

Well done MYOB with this release.
