AccountRight 2018.2 Server Edition (SE) - Connection Errors

Hi Everyone

Products: AccountRight 2018.2 Server Edition (SE)

We have seen an increase in the number of clients upgrading to AccountRight 2018.2 Server Edition and encountering a "Connection to the server was lost" or similar message. The reason for this is due to a port conflict.

If you are encountering this particular message please follow the steps below to set AccountRight 2018.2 to use the 56665 port:

  1. Ensure that AccountRight is closed on the machine
  2. Download and extract the following Connection Hotfix 2018.2
  3. Double-click and run Regkeys_2018.2.reg
  4. Copy & replace the Huxley.Application.exe.config file located in the extracted folder to the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRight\2018.2\SE
  5. Restart the server/host computer

Please note: In some cases, you may need to disable/suspend your antivirus/firewall program to complete the above steps. Please speak to your IT provider/antivirus software provider for assistance with this.

Alternatively, below are the steps to manually change that information so AccountRight 2018.2 SE uses that port. We strongly recommend consulting an IT professional if you wish to achieve this manually:

  1. Ensure that AccountRight is closed on the machine
  2. Update the Windows Registry Key  with the following: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MYOB\HuxleyServer\2018.2]
    ServicePortNo =”56665”
  3. Navigate an update the Huxley.Application.exe.config file (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRight\2018.2\SE) and update the reference of 16992 to 56665
  4. Restart the “AccountRight 2018.2” service located in your Window Services. Alternatively, restart the server/host computer.

Kind Regards,
Steven
