Accountright upgrade not working

Hi there,

 

I am hoping someone can help with the latest Accountright Upgrade. I currently trying to upgrade from 2018.2 version.  I am currently unable to access my file until I download said file but each time I try I just keep getting the same message: "Windows cannot open this file"...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi @CathyHigs

 

I have seen this issue before where it is not adding a .exe file extension after downloading the file.

 

The solution to this is by adding .exe to the end of the file name to get it working.

Hi @Haydes

 

I tried the .exe and that allowed me to download and run the 2018.4 upgrade so thanks for that. The only problem is I still cannot access my file? Am I missing a step perhaps?

Hi @CathyHigs

 

Looks like it thinks you're not using 2018.4, out of curiosity are you opening the new 2018.4 shortcut?

 

When you have installed the lates version you'll have a new shortcut to open this. Any shortcuts pinned to the Start Menu or Task Bar will still open the old version.

 

If you open your Desktop, do you see this icon?

May not say "SE" depending on the version installed

 

If so, just open this icon then try and open your file like normal.

 

You may need to change any pinned shortcuts you were using previously.

That was exactly the issue.

All the problems are now fixed.
