Error message when exporting to Excel

I can not export any reports to excel. It keeps giving me the following error message:

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C00-000000000046} failed due the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

No idea what this means..... Please help

Re: Error message when exporting to Excel

Hi @Kips

Generally speaking that particular message means that the Excel installation may not have completed properly or something is missing within the installation. To get around this you would need to reinstall your copy of Excel on that computer.

Its worth noting that for AccountRight to connect to Excel it needs to be installed after Excel. So if you are going to be reinstalling Excel then I recommend reinstalling AccountRight after reinstalling Excel.

Neil

Re: Error message when exporting to Excel

Hi @Kips

There could be a number of potential reasons why you are seeing that message if Excel has been installed for a while. It may well be a corrupt file or damaged Windows registry entry; however you would need to speak to your IT professional to look into that further.

Re: Error message when exporting to Excel

Hi Neil,

I did as you first suggested and it works!!!!! YAY.

Outlook did an update yesterday, so i wonder if this caused the issue???

Either way i am now back up and running.

Thank you so much :-)
