Error on Login to file that has been upgraded to AccountRight 2020.3 Premier

Hi,

I've upgraded a file to AccountRght 2020.3. Upgrading goes well but when I try to log in I get the message, "Somethings gone wrong and AccountRight needs to close''.

Please help because this upgrade has used up my file limit.

Thanks

Re: Error on Login to file that has been upgraded to AccountRight 2020.3 Premier

Hi @Nansco_08

Without getting a copy of the Diagnostic file, it's a little hard to judge what is occurring. However, I would have it a guess that we may need to arrange for a script to be run over that file. If the company file is stored online getting the following information would be required:

  • What the LAST FOUR DIGITS of the serial number is - Setup>>Company Information
  • What is the company file ID - Help>>About AccountRight

If the company file is stored locally try look at running the tool with instructions on Unable to open AccountRight file.

However, happy if you want to supply a copy of that diagnostic file before arranging for those scripts to be run.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Error on Login to file that has been upgraded to AccountRight 2020.3 Premier

Hi Steven,

The file is stored locallly.

The computer that I upgraded on, there are no issues opening the file. But when I do a back up because I have to use another computer, when ever I try to open it, AccountRight asks me again to upgrade so I just click upgrade then once upgrade is complete and I try to log on, I get the error. See below details

Re: Error on Login to file that has been upgraded to AccountRight 2020.3 Premier

Hi Steven,

I'm thinking the issue now is with the upgraded file. I'm able to open othe back ups but not the file that was upgraded. Can this file be deactivated so I can free my quota and do the upgrade process again?

Thanks

Re: Error on Login to file that has been upgraded to AccountRight 2020.3 Premier

Hi @Nansco_08

The cases I can see of the error log that you have reported seems to indicate that a reinstall of the application on that computer would be required and potentially a reinstall of Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4 a swell. We would recommend going down that path as the first port of call.

However, if you would like to arrange the deactivation of the company file as you have requested, I have sent you a private message to arrange that deactivation.

Kind regards,
Steven
