Export/Import Employees

Migrating employees from an old file to a new one.

The export has a field called status and had data options Y/N

I am assuming that it means it is inactive but need clarifaction.

Also, there were no employees in the traget file and yet i got 94 duplicate records on import using the record id. i checked the csv file and there are no duplicate record id's

PLease please provide ideas - including a better option/methodology for importing files

Re: Export/Import Employees

Hi @KarlV

Card Status should be N. Y means Inactive.

When importing into a new file - never include the Record ID. This can only be used when exporting and importing back into the same file. MYOB allocates a Record ID to every Card etc. If the new file already has some Cards (be they Customer, Supplier or Employee), these Cards will have a Record Id - usually starting from 1. You are trying to add Employees, however the Record ID's you are trying to allocate have already been allocated. Re -try without using the Record ID field.

Gavin
