Is it possible to migrate a Live company file back to Accountright Premier v19?

I have 3 company files.  Two are Accountright Live files and the third (and largest) is still an Accountright Premier v19 file.  I want to be able to still use all three and move the big file online, but can't justify three subscriptions.  I'd like to ideally swap one of the smaller Live files and have it offline, while the largest file goes to Live.

BUT

Is it possible to export the data from the smaller file and create a company file in v 19 with the exported data?

Hi @JRW

Technically possible to re build as a v19 file, however not straight forward. Export and import fields differ in some transaction types. And some things cannot be imported nor exported, eg payroll.

Why not simply continue to use the smaller file with AR2023 but offline. You don't need a subscription for an offline file. If the serial number is different and tied to a subscription licence instead of the same as the v19 serial number, you may need to get serial numbers swapped.

FYI you referred to the 'big file' - I recommend you purge prior year data while the file is in v19 before upgrading. As you likely know AR2023 does not have a purge function and as the file gets larger, it gets slower. There is a 3rd party purge function for AR2023, however it is not cheap.

Regards

Gavin

@gavin12345

Well - there you go.

I didn't understand that you could take a file offline and didn't require a subscription for it.  As I am the only one who uses the smaller files they can both come offline!  Thanks also for the heads up about purging the 'big one'.
