Printing Does Not Work Accountright 2015.4

Hi @gavin12345,

 

Just got a client that has a print issue using Account Right.

 

Environment is as follows:

Windows 7 pro 64bit

Outlook 2013

SERVER: Myob Accounright 2015.4 SE edition

DESKTOPS: MYOB Accountright 2015.4

Datafile: stored on local myob server library

 

When printing from any desktops in the office nothing is saved or prints out using physical printer or Adobe Pro v9 or latest version of  Cute PDF.

 

This is occuring on every machines so far.

 

Both PDF printers in MYOB allow you to choose a name and select a destination for the saved pdf but when you go to find the myob pdf file its not saved anywhere.

 

Adobe Pro and Cute PDF both print fine from Excel or Word etc.

 

You can still PDF in MYOB by using the SEND TO DISK..... option however but this doesnt work if you want statements or bulk printing options.

 

Just wondering if anyone else has come accross this.

Hi,

 

I am having the same problem.  Logged in this morning to do bulk payroll processing.  Printer spits out paper that is blank.  When I save to desktop and print as PDF it prints. 

My computer did the windows update early this morning.  I have no trouble logging in but cannot print.  Very frustrating.

I called MYOB but was going to be over half an hour wait. I ended up uninstalling the NET Framework update that Windows did this morning (even though I could log in).

It worked after I did this.
Something to do with the NET framework update.

Hopefully MYOB can fix it soon. Smiley Happy

Okay it that seem to do the trick. Just for everyones benefit i unistalled the update below and it restored the printing again.

It's great to see that @West01 has been of assistance to yourself.

Personally I haven't come across that particular update causing an error with printing. We have had reports of it not allowing access to company files and similar messages however nothing directly relating to printing (that I'm aware of at least). In saying that its possible that it will generate an error or not print - AccountRight 2015 being more closely tied to on .NET Framework.  

We have recently have released a tool - see Unable to open AccountRight file - that should prevent the login message from occurring, I haven't come across it correcting printing errors. So thanks for sharing your solution and the screenshot so that others in the MYOB Community that do come across not printing in AccountRight can look at uninstalling that update to see if its a solution to their enquiry.

well the fix got MYOB working, but i still cant print,

and i cant read which update has been deleted.

can some one please write it out so its legible to an old duck!!

 

i can save to pdf and print from there, but its a pain,

Found the same issue the accountright tool doesnt fix printing issue.

 

You need to remove the .net framework patch, look for patch updated on 10th March.

 

This link will guide you on the version of the framework to uninstall based on your version of windows.

Hi there @TheG@anybloodything, and @West01,

 

This issue has been raised and logged with our product develoment team. The cause has been worked out to be a component of the Microsoft .NET security update.

 

At this stage, the workaround is to remove the updates or for clients who don't wish to remove the updates, print to PDF.

 

The updates to remove are listed on the Microsoft page that @TheG has very helpfully linked in his post above.

Just to elaborate further, the external PDF printer does NOT work either.

 

I have a client using Adobe Pro and also Cute PDF and when you go to save the PDF it just doesnt save anything.

 

The only way to print is to using SEND TO command and saving to DISK.... option which works fine. But this SEND TO command isnt available in bulk print jobs unfortunately.

 

The Adobe and Cute products both work ok using other software products. ie Outlook, word, excel etc

 

Any printing in MYOB to either a physical printer or PDF driver printer results in a blank page being sent (or none in some cases) to the physcial printer or saved via PDF driver printer like Cute or Adobe Pro.

 

The only way PDF Printing will work is to remove the .net framework installed on 9th or 10th of march and then hide the update so it doesnt install again the following day
