Hi,
Problem upgrading our company file. It's coming up with it's due to negative inventory. I have checked and there's none negative. I am trying to switch off the negative inventory in preferences but won't let me. It's saying there is still negative value. I have not rolled over to 2019. Could that be a factor, we had used negative inventory in the past years. Will rolling over help in upgrading the data file?
Please help.
Cheers,
Elsie

Hi @EMillares
AccountRight 2019.2 currently doesn't support negative inventory. As such, if you are needing to migrate an AccountRight Classic company file that option would need to be disabled in the company file.
Generally, this can be done by ensuring that all the stock is currently not in a negative. I would recommend running the Item Register [Summary] report with a future date 31/12/99989. This will show you the current quantity and value for your items, for all items these would need to be positive values. If they are not an inventory adjustment would be required to bring them to 0 or a higher value. Once all those values are higher than 0 you could look at disabling that Inventory preference and migrating the file.
Do let us know how you get on and if you require further assistance.
Kind regards,
Steven

Hi @Steven_M ,
Thank you for your tip.
I ran the Item Register [Summary] report with a future date 31/12/9999. There is NO Negative stock. All my items are either 0 or positive value. I can't seem to untick/disable the "Allow Sales of Items with insufficient"- I've attached the snap shot of the error.
I need further assistance

Elsie

Hi @EMillares
Two things:
Finally as @Paul34 suggested - upgrading to AR2019 from v19 is for many a downgrade. Read the forum about problems experienced by other users. This may not reflect all users and you may well be one of the lucky ones and will not be affected by the disconnections, crashes, OutOfMemory errors etc. However being an Enterprise user with inventory, the odds are stacked heavily against you.
Regards
Gavin

Hi @EMillares
In theory, provided there are no negatives values for the item on hand and current value then you should be able to disable that preference. In saying that, if you would like to provide a copy of that Item Register [Summary] report with that future date we would be happy to take a further look. Do also ensure that you are logging into the company file with the username Administrator
Kind regards,
Steven
