I'm having trouble exporting reports to Excel since the new update.
I've checked that I have the necessary template files on my computer and nothing seems amiss.
When selecting to export to Excel, it just does nothing?

One thing that springs to mind based on what you are describing is a permissions issue. As AccountRight needs to have at least the same level of Windows permissions as Excel. If AccountRight had a lower level of Windows permissions than Excel, Excel would effectively ignore the information coming from AccountRight.
To check this you can right click on the AccountRight icon and choose the option to Run as Administrator. This will run AccountRight with full Windows administrator permissions, which should get around any permissions issues. If you are able to export to Excel by running AccountRight as an administrator, then you will need to reinstall AccountRight with full Windows administrator permissions

I too have the same problem where reports cannot export to Excel although export to CSV is OK.
I have copied all the templates to the correct folder.
When run as Administrator AR 2018 thinks about it then does nothing (i.e. circle goes around). When run as a user I can see the template flash up in the Excel window but then it disappears.
I am using AR 2018.2 and MS Office Standard Excel 2013
Please advise how to fix this.
Sorry, just solved my own problem - In Excel options - Trust Centre - disable protected view. This seems to work.
You have suggested to "you will need to reinstall AccountRight with full Windows administrator permissions", how do you do this?
To install a program with full Windows administrator permissions you need to be logged into Windows as a Windows Administrator. In addition you will also need to right click on the installer file and choose to run as administrator.
