This file can't be opened using AccountRight 2021.6. A more recent version of AccountRight is required.

While in the middle of printing over 800 statements, I was thrown out of MYOB and now cannot open the company file with this message being displayed "This file can't be opened using AccountRight 2021.6. A more recent version of AccountRight is required.".

Other users are still able to access MYOb, so I don't understand why this has happened. Has 2021.6 been deatcivated ? If so, why were we not notified ?

I've tried to find any messages advising of this in the forum and can't see anything...

Do you want customers, MYOB, or are you deliberately trying to destroy businesses and any confidence they may have in your products ?

Not at all happy with yet another example of MYOB incompetence...

Danny

Re: This file can't be opened using AccountRight 2021.6. A more recent version of AccountRight is required.

Hi @DannyTangney

That error indicates that the file has been upgraded by another user. Once the file has been upgraded all users will need to access the file using 2021.7. You can download 2021.7 from the downloads page on our website.

With regards to decommissioning, the last version to be decommissioned was 2021.5 so 2021.6 hasn't been decommissioned at this stage. For information on releases and decommission dates you can subscribe to this help article: AccountRight releases

Please let me know if you need further help.

Cheers,
Tracey

Re: This file can't be opened using AccountRight 2021.6. A more recent version of AccountRight is required.

Thanks for your reply, Tracey, but we do not have the new version installed as yet, and as that can only be done by our IT service providers, it is extremely unlikely that anyone else in our organisation has upgraded the file...

And very few people have the privileges to upgrade the file, making it even more doubtful...

Is there any way of finding out who is logged in to our file using the new version ?

Regards,

Danny

Hi @DannyTangney

The only way for a file to be upgraded is by the user if you're using the server edition or automatically if the PC edition is installed. As your IT people haven't done the upgrade I'd recommend checking for any users who have the PC edition installed. You can tell which version is installed by the colour of the AR icon, pink is PC edition and white is Server edition. If a user has opened the file using the PC edition it would have been upgraded to 2021.7.

Cheers,
Tracey

Hi @DannyTangney

The joys of automatic updates - ignores any permissions you may have set.

If you can access the file, you should be able to see the log in log out Log. Under Reports > Accounts > Security & Audit > Session Security Audit.
