UNABLE TO OPEN UPGRADED COMPANY FILE 2019.4

I have just upgraded to MYOB 2019.4 and when I go to open my company file (stored locally on my PC), it seems to upgrade successfully and then asks 'Would you like to open the upgraded file'

When I click this, the top left hand corner of the flashes '(Not responding)' and the application just closes.

I have chatted with support, uninstalled all old versions, uninstalled and re-installed 2019.4, re-booted etc - but to no avail.

I am using Windows 10 and have not had this problem on previous versions.

At this stage I am unable to upgrade this local company file to work in 2019.4.  Has anyone else come across this?

Yes ...... doing a very similar thing to me!

Support ...... yep, no use at all!

Seems to be something wrong with this latest "update".

Not happy ............

Just out of interest - Do you only have one company file or do you have more than one?

I have two.  One is converted to 2019.4 & works no problem ...... touch wood.

The other is converted to 2019.4 & will not open at all.  I'll get a message (not responding) then the whole program crashes!

Re: UNABLE TO OPEN UPGRADED COMPANY FILE 2019.4

Hi @PaulBHT  @RCG

Without getting a  copy of the diagnostic log in it's hard for us to determine what an appropriate fix for that situation would be. Although, try running the tool on Unable to open AccountRight file over that company file. This has been known to correct similar things for other clients.

If you are still getting that situation after running that tool getting a copy of the diagnostic log would be ideal.

Kind regards,
Steven

I am having the same problem. We have five files, two of which will open Ok but three simply exit as described above. Any other ideas?

Hi @pay322

Have you tried running the tool available on Unable to open AccountRight file over that company file?

@RCG  Great to hear that has worked for you. Thanks for letting us know.

Don't hesitate to post on the Forum again if you require further assistance.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: UNABLE TO OPEN UPGRADED COMPANY FILE 2019.4

Hi Steven,

I have run the Unable to Open Accountright tool and it has fixed the issue.  Thanks for your help.

After running the file it then required me to re-activate the file which I did and it worked OK.

Cheers
