"Unable to access network location" 2018.1 SE

Hello,

 

when trying to install i get error messages saying "Error 1606.Could not access network location MYOB\AccountRight\2018.1\XXXXX"

 

i manually installed on my local machine and copied the files in that folder onto our server yet the issue is still occuring, this is the first time this error has occured as all previous version upgrades ran smoothly.

 

any assistance would be appreciated

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a great resource.

 

Generally speaking a could not access network location error message means that either AccountRight is lacking the appropriate permissions to write to that particular area of the system, or that something is blocking the installation.

 

Often simply running the installer with full Windows Administrator permissions can get around any permissions related issues that could be existing on your computer. Additionally, it would also be worth making sure that no other programs are running at the same time you are trying to install. This would include any security programs such as your antivirus programs

Hello,

 

thanks for the response.

 

i have tried running as full admin of the server and it still does not work.

 

the files it is trying to access are local files (public documents folder) which is why i am unsure it is getting this error, i have never had this issue in the past when updating MYOB.

HI @deev

 

If you are still receiving that error even after running the installer with full Windows Admin permissions then you may need to speak with your IT professional as to why the program is unable to write to the public documents folder, specifically as there may be a network policy or setup that is preventing the program from writing to that location as it should.

i am the IT staff trying to install MYOB Server edition

 

i am still getting the could not access network location error, i have tried running it as Admin as well as changing and using the default install location

 

it installs fine on my own PC but when installing on the server it does not work
