ACCOUNT RIGHT CHANGES STOCK LEVELS ON ITS OWN, MYOB IGNORES IT!!!!

Been on hold for 45mins now,

FInally got to an operator in Mlayasia or somewhere who had no idea what i was talking about.

Back on hold again.

My issue is that MYOB changes stock leves on its own, either adding or subtracting stock.

We create an order, then bill the order. make a sale.

Then over the course of a week or two the stock changes on its own.

It's at the point that we are having to do a stock take every month.

Even today, sold all the items physically only to have MYOB say there is one left.

CHecked another product and it had increased by 2 units!!!!

This isn't anything new , wev'e been laughing about it for years, but now i am over it at $170per month.

Noone every answers the Forums or the instant messaging and i am still on hold after 50minutes.

I guess we'll be looking into Xero sooner than later.

So i have spoke to 2 people now and both don't have a clue about how to raise an order, bill the order, create the invoice for the sale.

Their answer is to change the stcok levels in count inventory.

What am i meant to do this every month now, cmon!!

Hi @Resimax

The inventory module has by far more bugs in it than any other module. Some issues are caused by the bugs. Others are caused by users, user settings etc.

You need to work out by studying history (reports and register details) of a particular item why this is happening - what you report has not been reported by other users - the biggest issue is with dud on hand values, not counts. There might be something in your procedures or settings or what different users are doing. Or it might be a new bug! Some anomalies occur when there is an unusual transaction, such as a reversal or an edit one an existing transaction. Using Receive Items can also be problematic.

You need to monitor these and see what is creating the issue.

FYI raising an order is not required in MYOB. You should only use Orders if they are required by your customer/supplier or your internal procedures require it. The majority of businesses would simply create the bill or the invoice.

Regards

Gavin

Re: ACCOUNT RIGHT CHANGES STOCK LEVELS ON ITS OWN, MYOB IGNORES IT!!!!

HI

The order is sent to the supplier therefore in the real world it is necessary.

This isn't just one item, it could be any of the 180 items we hold on file at any time.

This has been going on for ages. but today i've finally snapped.

I know 10 other people who have swapped to xero cause of these issues and MYOB's **bleep** support.

Being on MYOB helpline 20 2hrs 27minutes and then getting hung up on with noone in asia having a clue about the program is disgraceful.

Re: ACCOUNT RIGHT CHANGES STOCK LEVELS ON ITS OWN, MYOB IGNORES IT!!!!

Hi @Resimax , if I may comment, in 2022 you posted to say that this has been going on for 20 years. Version 19 and its predecessors did not have the current inventory issues that @gavin12345 refers to, so there's a chance that your inventory set-up or processes are contributing to these issues. The support line and this forum are not ideal ways to address them; I suggest you find a consultant who understands inventory well to review your file, they may be able to discover causes and suggest solutions. This can be done remotely if the file is in the cloud, and could be a small cost to resolve a long-standing issue.
