Accountright 2018.2.0

Never had this issue before but when attempting to email a customised Invoice MYOB crahed. I have email the report to support - but they are not there today????

MYOB had to restart and now th custom invoice is missing from both the print and email form selection.

It is available under setup-customise forms - I created a new copy via save as but this doesn't show either.

Next I exported the custom forms and re-imported overwriting.

Same result - the custom form and its copy are not in the list - other custom forms are working fine.

Does anyone have any idea what to try or do?

Update ... it seems that MYOB is having an issue with Outlook.

I printed a hardcopy of another invoice form and magically the previously unseen custom form reappeared.

Another copy of the Outlook failure email to MYOB support.

To get around the problem I printed the custom invoices to PDF along with an estatement and sent an email manully attaching the PDF's

Re: Accountright 2018.2.0

Hi @Nobo

I note that you're mentioning the emailing is crashing and there are reports being sent, I'm wondering if this is the "Something's gone wrong" error when emailing from AccountRight.

If this is the case, when you get the error you should have a button that says "View error Details". can you please click this and post the contents of the error into a reply to this thread so we can work through why the software is having troubles?

Without yet seeing the contents, I suspect you're receiving the same error covered in this support note: Something's gone wrong error: "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException"

Please let us know what you find.

Cheers,
Hayden

Re: Accountright 2018.2.0

Hi @Nobo

Thank you for the error report, this definitely looks like the issue I was mentioning before. I suggest running through the support note I had linked earlier to reinstall AccountRight.

Basically, in its simplest form, Interop is a Microsoft Outlook process that gets installed with Outlook so that third party programs can send emails through Outlook. The error message you are experiencing indicates that Interop is not correctly setup in the Windows Registry (Library not registered) thus when AccountRight does call to it an error message is generated.

I would recommend speaking to an IT person in regards to that particular error message and getting Interop correctly installed on your computer. You may need to reinstall Outlook in regards to that error. I would also recommend taking a look at Outlook issue - Unable to cast COM object of type which does also give you some possible solutions that you can speak to an IT person in regards to.
Some clients have had some success at uninstalling Office, uninstalling AccountRight and then reinstalling both products.

Cheers,
Hayden

Re: Accountright 2018.2.0

I am using Office 2016 Professional and did an online repair of MS Office under the Windows 10 Settings/App & Fetaures which has cured the problem.
