COS allocation when inventory sold

I am wondering if there is any reports I can run to track how much COS has been allocated when I sold my product.I have run GL detail report. But i still want to track the exactly amount has been allocated for each individual product in invoices.

Re: COS allocation when inventory sold

Hi @abc1232

Thank you for your post. The Analyse Sales (Item) report displays sales, cost of sales, gross profit, units, average cost and per cent margin for specific items within a range of accounting periods, based on recorded invoices, not including quotes and orders. This report can be found by going to Reports > Index to reports > Sales > Analyse Sales (Item).

Additionally our article Sales reports has a list of sales reports for available for inventory.

Cheers,
Melisa

Re: COS allocation when inventory sold

Hi Melisa,

Thank you for your reply. I have run the Analyse Sales (item) report and Item register (detail) report to compare COS and I found some difference. I would like to do some further investigation to figure out which one cause the difference. I am wondering how can I do the further investigation to figure out which cause the problem.

Re: COS allocation when inventory sold

For Example, I found in "Analyse Sales report" item A's COS is $10, and in "item register- detail" report, total amount from sales transactions in item A is $6.

Re: COS allocation when inventory sold

Hi @abc1232

Thanks for your response. Can you please check to see if you are running both reports for the same exact date range. If you are, can you please clear your AccountRight cache and then re run the report. Do the reports match now ?

Additionally can you run the Item Transactions Report for the exact same date range, does this match the Items Register Detail Report ? If it doesn't match can you please provide me a screenshot of the all 3 reports:

  • Analyse Sales report
  • Items Register report
  • Item Transactions report

Cheers,
Melisa
