Delete $0 transaction lines in Transactions and Recurring Transactions

Hello Team,

I have reluctantly recently moved from V19 to 2018.3 and found quite some differences.

My main bugbear at the moment is with the invoice printing. One each desription line it requires an asset code then you need to fill in a dollar amount. This is $0 value on each line as the invoice is detailing the work performed.

How do I remove each $0 amount prior to printing or emailing this invoice?

Also in V19 you could move to the next line in the description field by pressing the down arrow. This also is not a feature in 2018.

With software of any description it always astounds me that we appear to go backwards after an upgrade before moving forward with new features. MYOB is no different at this point in time.

Hi @Roblec

 

Within AccountRight 201X there are different types of lines within the invoice. By default, when a sales or purchases transaction loads the lines that are added are transaction lines. Transaction lines require both an account and amount to be chosen and these lines cannot have the account and transaction amount removed.

 

If you required just a descriptive line, then you can go to Edit >> Insert Blank Line. Unlike a transaction line, blank lines do not require either an amount or an account on that line, however you can use the description field to record a description line on the invoice

Hi Neil, 

 

We have also moved to Account Right Live and I am having the same issue. All of our previous sales created via V19 which have been imported now show a $0 balance at the end of each of the activity lines, as we create our invoices using time billing layout. 

 

Are we not able to print the invoice without showing $0 balances?

 

I need to use the activity to put in a description so the 'blank' line option doesn't work for us. 

 

Perhaps there is a way through creating a new template or something?

Hi Neil,

This did not help. The Edit insert line goes below the first line and this first line produces a $0 figure on the invoice. Also the insert blank line happens to produce bold font on my invoice which prints as bold.

Very annoyed at present with the invoice layouts. None suit my needs. 

Nothing is the same as V19. So many changes in V2018 that are making my life much harder. 

Not a happy MYOB user.

There are a number of options to create blank lines. One is a Header Line which allows you to add details. Right click the mouse where you want to add the line. You can add Headers between transaction lines. 

 I use this optionn on my invoicing.

Hi @NatalieD,

 

In your situation, you will be inserting a header line and entering your description. From Lists menu >>Recurring transactions e you may need to review the recurring sales that have been imported and see if the system template has recorded as you have mentioned with $0 balance at the end of each activity line. I would recommend you to delete the recurring transactions and enter it again and save as recurring transaction as there seems to be an error while upgrading your file. Also. you may like to follow the link to Add headers, subtotals, and lines to sales.

Hi @Roblec,

 

Usually, when you insert a Header then the invoice will have a bold writing in the Description column. Click the cursor in the Ship column and then insert the blank line. When you insert a blank line it will not allow you to enter any text in any fields. The positioning of your cursor is important. Please find the link to Add headers, subtotals, and lines to sales  Also, @IanChait post on adding, deleting lines using the right-click of a mouse is also helpful.
