Re: Drag and drop from outlook 2016 to in tray not working

Hi @Batescrew

Thank you very much for the screenshots.

Could you please confirm where you are dragging the PDF document from? Is it a saved file from your local computer, or is it an attachment within an email?

If the problem only occurs for you when dragging and dropping an attachment from within an email, we've received similar reporting. You can work around it by dragging the entire email into InTray, which will upload all attachments within the email.

Our developer advised that no recent changes were made to InTray's back end, so this is likely caused by an recent Outlook/Windows update. In order for us to look into it further, could you please provide the following information?

- When did it last work for you?

- How are you viewing the email, is it via a web browser or an email client such as Outlook?

- If using Outlook, what is the build number? It can be located via File > Office Account from the left panel > About Outlook

- Which Windows are you using? And was there any recent updates installed? Here is where you can check the update history in Windows 10. A screenshot of the update history would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Clover

Re: Drag and drop from outlook 2016 to in tray not working

Hi Clover, We are dragging the PDF from an attachment in Outlook 2016,

Dragging and dropping the entire email works.

It last worked about 2 months ago.

We are using Outlook for Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.12827.20012) 32-Bit

Version 2005 (Build 12827.20030 Click-to-Run)

And Windows version 1909 (OS Build 18363.778)

Below is the update history

Re: Drag and drop from outlook 2016 to in tray not working

Same issue - started yesterday 4/5/20. Will give dragging and dropping the entire email a go. I hope it doesn't drag too many logos otherwise will need to drag and drop onto desktop first. 🙁

Re: Drag and drop from outlook 2016 to in tray not working

Hi @Chuck_Mak @Rob-Mac @Kaz2 @happy1

Thank you all for the information provided. You can also save the attachment from the email to local computer first then drag and drop them into InTray, emailing documents to InTray also works as usual.

In order for our teams to look into this further, we'd very much appreciate if you could please provide the following information:

- How did you access the email? Was it via webmail, or an email client (e.g. Outlook)?

- If using Outlook, what is the build number? It can be located via File > Office Account from the left panel > About Outlook.

- Which Windows operating system are you using? And was there any recent updates installed? Here is where you can check the update history in Windows 10. A screenshot of the update history would be very helpful.

Cheers,
Clover

Re: Drag and drop from outlook 2016 to in tray not working

Hi @CloverQ

Same issue.  Dragging the entire email solves it.  Emailing to the inbox also worked.  Pretty sure it was working fine Friday, first noticed the problem Monday 4 May.

In answer to your questions:

- How did you access the email? Was it via webmail, or an email client (e.g. Outlook)?

We access email through Outlook 2016

- If using Outlook, what is the build number? It can be located via File > Office Account from the left panel > About Outlook.

Version 2004 Build No. 12730.20236.  It appears to have been updated recently, however I can't give you a specific date.

Hope this helps,

Re: Drag and drop from outlook 2016 to in tray not working

I started having this issue yesterday. Worked last Thur 30/4.

But another of our users (the owner of the business and I think an administrator) is not.

My Outlook info is exactly the same as Katrina's.
