Re: Header account calculation incorrect

Hi @PSLD

Taking a look at the screenshot you have uploaded, the header account information looks to be calculating correctly for header accounts 9-1000 and 9-6000. Although I can see that header account 9-1000 is not adding to up to those two header accounts. Without knowing/seeing if there are any account it is hard to tell if this is correct balance of not. If you would like to indicate if you do have any more accounts in that list we would be happy to take a look further? If there are other accounts getting their balances would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Header account calculation incorrect

Hi Steven,

thanks for helping,

here is my whole account list, the screen shoot part is at the bottom, so far as shown in the list, I believe all Other Expenses were included.

Re: Header account calculation incorrect

Hi @PSLD

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Thank you for the deport PDF, it let me see that there is definitely a difference in balance with the 9-0000 header account.

I have found that Clearing the Cache and moving the Hierarchy of Accounts around can sometimes re-calculate it and put it back into Balance.

To Clear the Cache:

1. Open your Start Menu

2. Type: %localappdata%

3. Open the %localappdata% folder:
temp.png

4. Open the MYOB Folder.

5. Open the AccountRight Folder.

6. Open the Version folder (E.G: 2018.2)

7. Open the Cache Folder.

8. Clear all files listed here.

The Cache files are files containing operational data within AccountRight to make some operations faster, if these files corrupt in any way this could lead to unexpected behaviour in AccountRight.

To move the Header Accounts:

This is using the up and Down Arrows. I suggest moving some Details out of the Header Accounts and then put them back in to see if this refreshes the balance.

You can find instructions by seeing this support note: Create detail and header accounts

Please let us know how you go!

Cheers,
Hayden

Re: Header account calculation incorrect

Hi @PSLD

Drat. There are 2 thoughts I have on this then:

  • Check to see if there are any Inactive Accounts with balances in the Header Account Hierarchy.
  • Failing that we can have the file submitted for investigation by our Datafile Repair team.

Inactive Accounts with balances will add to the end Header Balance but not display in reports or Transaction windows.

If you can confirm there's no Inactive Accounts with values, then this sounds like an error in the database. To get this looked at, please send me:

  • Your MYOB Serial Number (Found in: Setup > Company Information)
  • Version of MYOB (Found in: Help > About)

You can send me a Private Message by hovering your mouse over my Avatar and clicking Send Message on the popup.
