Inventory Movement Report

Can anyone advise how to print a movement report once you have moved stock between locations in MYOB? In the old version of MYOB you could just run a movement report

Re: Inventory Movement Report

Hello,

It is my understanding that the report you are looking for is not yet available in this version of MYOB (i.e. v2019.2 Accountright)

However, when the report is made available in future releases, it can be retrieved under Inventory > Move items > Print. If we try to do this now, i get the following message. (attached)

Re: Inventory Movement Report

This is very fustrating as we now how no proof of stock movements being made until this report is released in a future update??  When you record a stock movement you don't get a reference number or anything to be able to refer your stock transfers to.  I hope this is rectified as soon as possible.  Having 3 branches that we move stock between and no way to prove that we have made the movement in MYOB isnt very practical.

Re: Inventory Movement Report

it's now 15 October, the last of the premier V19 holdouts have now been moved to AR Premier 2019.3 due to STP.

& what do do they find... No Item Movement, no way to audit or verify item location movments.

I've been talking to support for the last hour, apparently the current movement 'transactions' and not actually transactions at all, they are just balance updates in the back end data only, with no associated journal/transaction recorded anywhere at all! Accounting 101 was ignored when this was implemented apparently Smiley Wink

They did say the there will be a movement  update in 7days, but by the sounds of things there will be no historical data to report prior to the update,

Re: Inventory Movement Report

Hi @Freman

Apologies for the delayed response.  This is currently with our development team, however, there is no ETA for when this will become available.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I have passed along your feedback to the relevant teams. Feel free to utilize the forum if you have other inquiries or advice.

Cheers,
Theresa

Re: Inventory Movement Report

There certainly was an ETA, it was 7 days ish from my conversations with support.

You do realise how embarising this is for MYOB don't you?

MYOB decided to throw thousands of years worth of accounting knowledge out the window when it was decided that stock transfers from one location to another requires no transaction entry and no audit trail. Its utterly incredible that ARPremier was released without it!

Imagine if your personal Bank decided, if it's good enough for MYOB to ignore the absolute basics of accounting then its good enough for us, and starting to simply update your bank account balance with no transaction to support why or who changed it. Yep, its completely unimaginable.

MYOB constantly make a big song and dance about the millions upon millions of $s it dumps into development & research (I think the latest is 50mil of newly allocated $s). What does this fiasco say about the quality of product & value for money you are getting from these giant amounts you apparently spend on your products.

Re: Inventory Movement Report

This was a huge problem for us as well, I've managed to get around it by changing the way I move items.

We are currently process all movements through 'Purchases', created an internal supplier for this and then just go line by line, adding 1 into new location and removing -1 from the old location.

Would definetly prefer the old way but on a plus you can include notes with the movement.
