Journal memo editing

How to change the “Journal Memo” description to be automatically filled with ID card of the customer and a text?

I would like to know if there’s a way to personalise the Journal memo description from Enter Sales.

or what other options do we have to get PO number to display on statements?

Re: Journal memo editing

Hi @Danio

The Journal memo of a transaction is commonly a set field for transactions. For example, with sales the journal memo would be in the format "Sale;<customer's card name>". This particular memo format is set and is not able to be changed on a default basis. Should it need to be changed it can be done on a per-transaction basis as and if required.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Journal memo editing

Hi @Danio

The Customer PO Number can be added to the statement by customising the required statement form. I've included the below process for adding the Customer PO number to your statement form:

  1. Navigate to Setup>>Customise Forms
  2. Choose Statements
  3. Choose the desired statement layout; Invoice or Activity
  4. Highlight the desired form name
  5. Click Customise. The customise form window will appear
  6. Right-click on the Statement table
  7. Choose Show/Hide Columns from the menu that appears
  8. Choose to show the Cust. PO No. field
  9. (Optional) Resize the columns so that field can be displayed
  10. Select to save the form before closing the window

The above process will add the Customer PO number on the sales transactions when using that customise form.

For more information on adding that column and customising your forms please see Help Article: Personalising forms

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Journal memo editing

After following your instructions.

When we printed the statement we got oversized text boxes/data fields

displaying the sales invoice / cust purchase order numbers

BUT

every invoice was on a separate page.

This customer has 8 invoices owing,  displayed separately on 8 pages of statement.

Suggestions please.

Re: Journal memo editing

Hi @Westsec

When viewing the Statement table on the customise form how big is the table lengthwise?

For example, does it look like the following screenshot? If so, extended the table downwards the page. The Statement table will be populated by the statement information but if you have shrunk that field down, you are throttling the statement table to only show one line, thus multiple pages for multiple lines  (1 line per page).

The other option that may have occurred is that you have not resized the columns so that the last column is oversized and thus have forced the lines on the statement to appear on multiple pages. Re-sizing that columns should resolve that one.

Kind regards,
Steven
