Mail merge

Hi 

Just trying to set up mail merge from MYOB Accountright 2019.4 into word but I can only get the name in last name then first name order and then I also need the first name on its own so we can go Dear Mary

Can someone please help

Hi @asue72 


In the personalised letters, if you want to address someone as "Dear .... ", then it would be recommended to write the name you want in Salutation field of the employee's card file. This is because whatever name you have in the Salutation field would be picked up in the letter as Dear [[Salutation]] is the format in the personalised letter templates.

Thanks however I don't have time to go into each card and add the first name.  If I did this would only fix half the problem which is with the contact details.

 

The MYOB database has the first name and surname as separate fields so this should be available to merge doc function?

Unfortunately, that is the only workaround we have at the moment to address someone with their First Name. The mail merge templates are pre built templates and do not allow many customisation options.
