Pay Bills error - Unable to Save

I'm using Cloud based AccountRight Premier AU 2019.2.1

I am trying to process a payment for a supplier with a lot of invoices all of which have settlement discounts on each invoice.

When I try to process the payment I keep getting an Error Message that says

"Unable to Save" 

"Your changes can't be saved becuase information in this record was modified in another winder, or by another user."

"Please reopen the record to make changes"

 

As I am the only person in the office who has access to MYOB I'm not sure why this message keeps appearing.

Can someone please offer any assistance on why this would happen

Hi @CGI 

 

Thanks for your post. I hope you're finding plenty of useful tips, advice and support on the community forum. 

 

Can you please go to Help > About MYOB AccountRight and double check that it is AR 2019.2.1.  On file I can see you're on 2019.2 which did have an issue with this error showing. Sometimes desktop shortcuts save and it could still be opening the old version even though you updated to the new one. 

 

Let me know the version and we'll go from there.  Sometimes the thing being modified could be a simple button selected that still throws the error without an actual data point being 'modified'.

Hi again Theresa

I'm back on deck and I've just tried to process the Supplier payment again in "Pay Bills" and I'm getting the same Error Message which I've attached. This is not the first time it's happened but it does always happen to one specific Supplier payment and there are always a large amount of invoices that I pay at once so maybe it's a timing out issue? I did split this specific payment into two Electronic Clearing payments to work around the problem and managed to get the first payment to process and even though the second payment has less invoices to process I just can't seem to get past this Error Message

My steps are - Go to "Pay Bills"  

1) Tick Pay from "Electronic Clearing Account"

2) Select the Supplier

3) Schedule the Future payment date

4) apply the Settlement Discounts on each separate line for each invoice

5) Click Record the Payment

6) Either Click Print Now or Later for Debit Memos - doesn't seem to matter which I select

7) The Error Message then appears

 

Please let me know what I can do - perhaps split the payment down even further in case it is a timing out issue

I'd be grateful for any assistance

Thanks for that information.  I think it's worth trying to complete the settlement discounts one or a couple at a time instead of the 35 at once.

Well I was able to process the payment for 10 invoices OK but when I tried to do the next 10 it reverted back to the same error message - I then tried just to pay 7 invoices (total of only $1300) applying the discounts as I went and again it has reverted back to the error message - I then tried to pay 5 invoices (for a total of $380) applying the discounts and again it threw up the error message.

Maybe I'm not holding my tongue correctly!! What is going wrong??

I'm glad you were able to process some of them.  I'm not quite sure why the other ones are not but the next thing to try is Work offline (checking out and checking in).  Give this a go and let me know how it goes.
