I have some recurring transactions set up on a monthly shedual.
Sometimes they skip a month eg: I recorded one on the 1st september but changed the date to 31st August, now the next one says its due on the 30th October, completely missing September.
How can I fix this problem.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I believe it would be necessary to re-establish the recurring transactions.
The Banks sometimes cause problems when they take the money on the last day or the first day of the month.
I do not use the automatic nature of recurring transactions.
Hope this helps.
I am sorry but I dont understand, these are no automatic.
I record them and change the date as I do the end of the month on the following day.
Myob always has the current date when entering so they have to have the date changed.
Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of useful information.
Great to see @DuncanS has already given some information and suggestions, I do hope you found this helpful
When you use a recurring transaction, if there is a next due date due then when the transaction is recorded the next due date moves forward by one frequency period, regardless of the date the transaction was recorded on.
For example, if the monthly recurring transaction is next due on September and it gets recorded AccountRight will then move the next due date one month forward into October. This would happen even if the recurring transaction was recorded with a date in August.
If you have the tick box ticked to update the recurring transaction when it is recorded, then changing the date complicates matters as the period will still move forward but it will change the next due date to align the two pieces of information. So if the last transaction was recorded at the end of the month, instead of the beginning, then the recurring transaction template would be updated to reflect the end of month, but in the next time that transaction falls due.
You can change the next due date by clicking on the recurring transaction and then clicking Edit Schedule. This will bring you through to the window to set the next due date for that transaction.

Where will I see if this is the case (If you have the tick box ticked to update the recurring transaction when it is recorded, then changing the date complicates matters as the period will still move forward but it will change the next due date to align the two pieces of information)
To see that tick box you can go to Lists >> Recurring Transactions. Once in here, highlight the recurring transaction and then click the Edit Schedule button. The edit schedule window will appear, and allow you to change the next due date, any alerts as well as some extra transaction information, including the aforementioned tick box
The tick box that is mentioned above is "Save my changes when I record this recurring transaction" rather than update the recurring transaction. From the Lists>>Recurring Transactions>>Highlight the transaction concerned>>Edit Schedule (Bottom left corner)>>under Transaction heading. See the screen capture below:
