Sales/Purchases: Removal of unwanted/inactive cards for transactions

Finding a way to remove inactive cards and accounts completely from lists in future releases of MYOB's Account Right software would be a feature that would be of much benefit to our company and I'm sure other clients.

It is annoying that someone can tab across and make a record against an inactive card.

What is the purpose of making a card inactive when this is possible?

I hope MYOB developers will look into this.

 Hi @Hinco

Thank you for your idea in regards to AccountRight and inactive records.

Inactivate cards should not appear in any of the lists with AccountRight 201x. We would love to know if you do find an inactive card appearing in a list we would love to see what list and window you are seeing that card appearing.

From what I can gather from your history on the MYOB Community Forum in regards to inactivate records you are more concerned with inactive accounts. So is your idea more aimed at inactive accounts rather than inactive cards?

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Inactive card transactions

i''m concerned with inactive cards.

i don't care whether they appear or not but I don't want my employees to be able to record a transaction against a card that has been marked inactive otherwise what is the point of making it inactive.

Regards,

Amy

Re: Inactive card transactions

Hi @Hinco

Within AccountRight 2015.1 I personally don't see how you can record a transaction against an inactive card. The program would hide those inactive cards from the list and also when you typed in the name it would not bring up that card but the previous one it the list.

For example my Cash Sales card is inactive.

The card doesn't appear in any lists

Even if you type in the name and select tab it will go to the previous card in the list, which in my case is Cameron, James

Are you finding something different with your cards?

Aslo from what I can tell they have also corrected this for accounts i.e you can't create a transaction directly to an inactive account as it does appear in the list of accounts or you are not able to type in the account to select it.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Inactive card transactions

Hi @Hinco

What version of the program are you using? This can be checked via Help>>About AccountRight.

The above information is in relation to AccountRight 201x. You may have a different experience on older versions of the program/ the AccountRight Classic range.

Kind regards,
Steven

Hi @Hinco

I've done some testing in regards to AccountRight 2014 and inactivate cards. You are correct AccountRight 2014 would allow you to select an inactive card if your typed in the card's name. However it has been corrected in AccountRight 2015.1. I would recommend download and installing that AccountRight 2015.1 version and testing entering in inactive cards.  For more information into download AccountRight 2015.1 please see Support Note: Downloading updates from my.MYOB

Do let us know how you get on with installing that version and the testing of selecting those inactive cards.

Kind regards,
Steven
