Sales Register opens with first customer profile viewed for the day as default for the rest of the day

Sales Register opens with first customer profile viewed for the day as default for the rest of the day

On a previous update, every time you opened Sales Register it would start with the most recently viewed profile.

With the current update, when you open Sales Register it opens with the first profile viewed for the day.

 

We would love it reverted back to the way it was, because quite often you find yourself wanting to go back and do more work for customer just had open.

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge.

 

Sales Register usually stays as per your last customisation on selected customer and the date range. Can you please elaborate further as to which version you are working on as I am replicating this is 2016.2.1 and I am able get my last customer that I looked at with a given date range.

If that is the first customer you look at for the day, yes it remembers it. But if you then look at another customer, exit and come back, it reverts back to that first customer again.

I am using 2016.2.1 also.

Thanks for your prompt reply. 

 

 

I think it might be a cache file that is causing the problem as I am not getting what ever you have described. As such I would recommend clearing out that company file's cache file. This cache files stores information to aid in the searching and finding of recent values. Thus I would be deleting that cache file and allowing AccountRight to recache that company file (which will happen automatically when you open the company file again). 

The cache file can be found in the following location: 

C:\Users\--username--\AppData\Local\MYOB\AccountRight\201x.x\Cache


Please note that --username-- is the username that you are using to log into Windows with and AppData is a hidden folder so you would need to turn that preference on within Windows.The cache file name would be named "companyFileCache_<companyfilename>.

Tried that - didn't fix it.

 

But funny thing is - main computer still acting the same, 2nd computer (and was doing this before tried fix, but only today) is acting as though have not looked at any files today in sales register, as though for first time each time I look at sales register.

Reverted back to our normal now. 2nd computer is stuck on a particular profile again

Hi @CazCooky,

 

Can you please confirm if you have cleared Cache for all the computers? Also please let me know the following:

 

- which version of the software you are using and if it is 2016.2 then whether or not you are on line. 

 

- Are you using the Server Edition or PC Edition for the software

 

As you have mentioned Computer 1 and 2, it would be great to know where your file is stored?

I didn't think to try it on server computer before.

Cleared that Cache and did fix it.

 

But won't it create a new cache file again next time we log back in?

Problem fixed for today once deleted cache on computer 1 (where file stored).
Sill advise if any issues return tomorrow.

When you clear the cache and delete the cache file, it gets recreated when Accountright reopens. But a new copy of the cache file shouldn't cause the same issue.
