Select Form window pops up when sending to disk

Just updated to AccountRight Premier 2021.4 and the select form window pops up each time I select send to disk.

How do I turn this off?

I am experiencing the same issue since updating to 2021.4.

 

Upon confirming which Form is required, it doesn't save the preference and when reclicking Sendto>Disk, it asks to re enter required form... so on.

Yep me to, when you do it alot through the day, it adds up through the day.

 

I have checked that the forms are selected as the default forms and they are.

Yes, I haven't changed anything, so defaults to correct form. Seems odd to add an additional step to the process.

Hi Everyone


With the release of AccountRight 2021.4, we have introduced a change that does mean that when selecting to Send to Disk they will be prompted to select which customise form they wish to generate that with.

 

I do understand that some users would not prefer to have that selection form option, rather they wish to use the default form set within Advanced Filters and we do value that feedback. However, with the AccountRight 2021.4 release, it is now a case that selection would be required for that form with the Send to disk feature.

WOW this is incredibly frustrating.

I'm about to do this 85 times in a row, with not only 85 extra steps but also 85 extra opportunities to make an error.

What is the point of being able to set a default?

Why, why, why would they do this?

Please please please change it back.

Thank you for your feedback

The ability to select which form you wish to use when using the Send to Disk function has been a feature that some users have requested in the product. See AccountRight Idea Exchange: Sales: Send to Disk (PDF) select form. There are a number users that do explain some of the reasons why they would like to see that as a feature of the product.

But the ability to select a different form was always there if you need to send to disc, you just use the print to PDF option instead and select the form.  There was a way around this within MYOB.

 

Now with the current set up, it is causing alot of extra work for I am assuming a significant amount of users.

I understand you have to keep customers "wish lists" happy but at the expense of other users isn't great practice. Putting not just an extra step but 2 or 3 for the users, I would say 90% out there were happy with the current setup.

 

Almost all my customers are complaining it can't be bypassed and has added time to their day that wasn't required.

 

Is there a plan to overide this setting for frustrated end users?

Hi Everyone

 

Thank you for your additional feedback on this one.


It has come to our attention that if you have Setup>>Preferences>>Sales (or Purchases)>>Automatically Save To Disk Sales When They are Recorded enabled you will not be prompted to select the customise form. So this could potentially be used as a workaround without needing to select the required form.

 

It should also be noted that the browser interface will allow you to view a PDF copy of the invoice. While the selection box does appear on the window to select which form is used this is pre-populated from the Advanced Filters of the Print/Email Invoices setting on the Desktop application.
