Transaction Imports with blank separator lines - are they truly blank?

Another learning involving imports (inventory adjustments in v19, but could possibly apply to AccountRight 201x).

Importing a file of inventory adjustment journals to a v19 (AUS) file gave me lots of unexpected errors, even when I imported 400 single-line journals to help with the diagnosis. The key error in hindsight was "item number cannot be blank", but I also got rounding errors even on a zero line.

The solution - I opened the text file in EditPro, and made all non-printing characters visible. I noticed that the blank lines had one tab character for each column (the file had been saved as tab-delimited from Excel). So I copied one line of tabs and did a replace all with nothing, so that the only character on the blank lines was a carriage return, and the 400-line file of 10 journals imported without a single error

I hope this saves someone else time wasted.
