Hi everyone

I have MYOB AccountEdge Network Edition, obviously on a mac.

When I email invoices and statements, they carry my personal email address rather than my company email address.

Can anyone help with this? How can I change the email address on my invoices and statements?

Sorry I forgot to include in my earlier post that the invoices and statements also have my personal name attached as the sender, rather than my company name.  It means the customers receive emails from me rather than from my company.  Some customers delete the emails because they dont recognise the sender.  

Does anyone know how to change this?

hi @Shembers01,

 

On a Mac, this would most probably be similar to a PC/laptop, where you need to set your default email as your business email.

 

It may be best to set that as your default in mail on the Mac, and then when you send an email you want to go from personal you just drop down the bar and change the sender, or click on the personal inbox prior to saying new email.

 

If replying to an email received to your personal email, it should automatically go from the same email address that received it.

 

If you don't want to make the business email as the default, then you would just need to do your invoices, change the settings default in mail to the busines address prior to sending them, and then change it back to personal after sending.

 

This would be the best option if you only invoice on a weekly or monthly basis.

Thanks Julie

I set up a new account in mail for my business, and if I disable the other accounts when I send business emails then the emails carry my business name and business email address.

Thanks for helping me solve this.

However, I still have one problem. When I email the accounts, (press send, choose email, select the customers email address and press send) the email turns up without an attachment. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong please?

Are you using an online version or is just the desktop based version?

I have MYOB accountedge network edition installed on my mac laptop.

Except for this problem I have been very happy with it.

hi @Shembers01,

 

If you have also upload the file to the cloud (go online), then you need to go to setup>preferences>emailing and in the section Send emails using Accountedge, drop down the when emailing invoices bar and choose include a link and attach a PDF.

Hi Julie

I havent uploaded the file to the cloud, is just on my laptop.

When I open setup preferences, there is no emailing tab.

Any further advice?

Hi Julie

Yes it appears that is the answer. thanks for that.

This was a known fault on my version of Account Edge Network Edition (version 13), which has corrected in later versions (beyond version 15).

I checked and I am eligible to upgrade to version 15.5.

I downloaded NE 15.5 from the internet, but I cant upgrade my files. I have just spent over 2 hours on this without luck.

There is a NE upgrade assistant which supposedly helps to upgrade files, but step 2 says "find" the file you wish to upgrade and none of my files are there.

Is there some way or some one who can help with this? 

I suspect I am close to solving the problem.
