re-value a sold item

Hi All

Help please! I input the wrong number of items for a specified $ Value - and need to re-value the inventory.

Purchase shows 5 x Items - Value - $622.03

Should be 3 x Items - Value - $622.03

I've sold 3 x items - but cannot successfully adjust the inventory.

How would you do it?

Re: re-value a sold item

Hi @JK-Legend

If you just want to change the total quantity of the item, without changing the total value, then you would have to create an inventory journal like an example given below:

inventoryadjustment.PNGIn order to decrease the quantity, you can enter the quantity as negative in the relevant field. Also, please ensure that any adjustments through this window are done through "Cost of Sales" account.

You can find more examples and information on doing inventory adjustments on Making inventory adjustments help article.

Please let me know if you have any questions on this.

Kind regards,
Komal
