ATO REPORTING CATEGORY FOR "ONE TIME DEDUCTION"

Hi

I have to make a deduction from an employee's pay for equipment he damaged and we replaced.  I have set up a "one time deduction", but what ATO Reporting Category do I use?

In the Deduction Information screen for this deduction, I only have the options of:  Not Reportable; Deduction - Union/professional Assoc Fees; Deduction - work place giving; ETP-Tax W/holding.

I have, at this stage, chosen "Not Reportable".

Is this correct.

Thanks

Re: ATO REPORTING CATEGORY FOR "ONE TIME DEDUCTION"

Hi @Lisa_H

This help article, Assign ATO reporting categories, has information on assigning categories and links to the ATO website.  Not Reportable generally means that the deduction dosn't need to included on the employee's tax return. If you're not sure which category to use it is best to confirm with the ATO.

Please let me know if you need further help.

Cheers,
Tracey
