Error STP Deletion and Reconciling

I proceseed a payroll and I also sent this report to payroll reporting center (STP) and it was approved.

Employees were paid as normal.

I noticed when I was doing the reconciliation that I had put an incorrect description on the payroll so I deleted the file and put that particular employees payroll through again exactly the same but with the correct descrption.

I sent this to the reporting center (STP) and it was approved.

So I now have reported that particular employees wages twice in reporting center STP but of course everything is fine and balancing with the rec and bank.

If I create another payrun and put negative figures reporting center STP will be correct but this will throw out the bank rec.

What's the best way to handle this please.

Re: Error STP Deletion and Reconciling

Hi @Shannyn

STP updates the YTD amounts each time you declare a payrun and the ATO are only interested in the YTD amounts so when you process your next payrun the YTD amounts will be updated and corrected in STP.

You don’t need to do anything other than fix the error in MYOB.

If you don’t want to wait until your next payrun to fix errors in STP you create an update event by processing a $0 pay. This will update the YTD with the ATO.

Cheers

Tracey
