Overpayment payroll yr already closed

Hi,

I just found out i paid a casual employee for a shift when she didnt work (mix up with timesheets). It was in May and i have closed off the payroll year. I did back up before closing the payroll year. I have spoken with her and she is paying us back today. I am assuming i need to go into the back up but then what is the best way to handle this to ensure the Payment summary for her is correct and everything reconciles on my end.

It was only a small amount and no tax or super was included.I do electronic payroll and STP.

If you have reported the previous payroll year with payment summaries, then you will need to restore the backup and produce amended payment summaries with the corrected figures for what this person should have received for that payroll year. I ended up doing that and i have amended everything in the back up. 

Just wondering about the money i recieve from the employee... Which account would i allocated it to?

I’d recommend asking your accountant this question, as they will be the most familiar with your account list they will be able to advise you on which account to use to record this overpayment being returned to you
