Payroll reverse error message

Hi 

can someone help ! 
so I have tried to reverse a pay as myob now states 

as new employee was coded to incorrect account by admin staff .. 

it was their holiday pay roll go to reverse through find transactions find the pay edit reverse and I get an error below 

"Employeepaymenteventhourlywagesline_entitlementpayrollcategorymissing" 

???????
MYOB help with this change in reversal that can't be undone !!! 
using myob 2020.4

Hi @tabbitha 

 

We may have a script in which that can be run to help aid with that message. To arrange for that script to be run for you can you confirm the following information:

  • Where the company file is stored i.e. online or local
  • What the LAST FOUR DIGITS of the serial number is - Setup>>Company Information
  • What is the company file ID - Help>>About AccountRight

Also, as the script can impact the Standard Pay of your employees(s) it might be good to run the Standard Pay Details report - Reports>>Payroll>>Recurring Transactions, just to ensure that you do have a record prior to running that script.

I've run that script over the company file. This should allow you to complete that payroll task.

 

As that script has been run, and due to its nature, we do recommend checking the standard pay of your employees to ensure that they are set appropriately before processing your next pay.

unfortunately it still is not allowing me to reverse continues to say 

EmployeePaymentEvenetHourlyWagesLine_EntitlementPayrollCategoryMissing

Hi @tabbitha 

 

I've re-run that particular script for you, just in case it didn't fully work in the first instance.


If you are still encountering that message, I would recommend going to Payroll>>Payroll Categories>>Entitlements>>Selecting the desired entitlement category - ensure that the employee has been assigned that category (is ticked under Employee) and that you have the wage category linked as the Linked Wage category for that entitlement.

Hi @tabbitha 

 

Try completing the following process:

  1. Navigate to Payroll>>Payroll Categories>>Entitlements
  2. Select the desired entitlement
  3. Untick the linked wage categories
  4. Select OK

The above process unlinks that wage category/categories for the entitlement so that you should be able to reverse that payroll transaction as required.

Once that pay has been reversed don't forget to re-add those Linked Wage categories back into the entitlement.
