Preparing Payment Summaries

Good morning,

I have two clients who have recently upgraded from V19.16 to V2021.3 and STP has only been set up in this financial year therefore I'm unable to finalise the payroll using STP.

I will have to process the payment summaries the old way under Prepare Payment Summaries however, when I process the payment summaries, they are reporting wages from 2021/2022 payroll. How do I change it to the previous year 2020/2021?

There was no warning to back up when I processed the first July Pays

We seem to lose the ability to produce 2021 payment summaries after processing a July pay.

There was no back up warning

Thanks for your post. In order to prepare payment summaries in a previous payroll year you will need to restore a back up locally: Restore your company file

If you don't have back up you can request a back retrieval on our website: MYOB Backup Retrieval

Yeah thats great but I have not rolled my payroll year over!!!!!!

I have had to open up V19 and run an empdupe and attach to ATO portal as I did not do payroll rollover and MYOB does what it wants.

This new MYOB has removed to many things that the old one did and added take over measures that have removed my ablilty to change what I need to.

So not impressed.

Hi @DtheP69 

We made some changes in AccountRight 2020.2 including removing the need to close the payroll year and to load the latest tax tables. This is now done automatically and allows users to process pays in the new payroll year and process adjustments in the previous year at the same time. This was introduced to make EOFY easier as users don't need to restore a back up to finalise payroll in the previous year when reporting through STP. 

If you still need to prepare payment summaries you do need to restore a back up once the payroll year has been rolled over.

My last backup was on the 24 May 2021 and now I need to do my payment summaries. Unfortunaltely MYOB won't allow me to do that for the 2020/21 financial year.

Do I have to restore the last backup and re-enter all the data from then up to 30 June 2021?

If you have already registered STP for 2021/2022 then you will not be able to prepare payment summaries for 2020/2021.
