Process workers compensation after STP sent to ATO

we have been advised that a worker who was injured has now been accepted under worker compensation but his pays were completed as "personal leave" until claim accepted.  He was paid 2 weeks "personal leave" and these pays were included in STP sent to ATO.  How do we now change these pays from "personal leave" to "workers compensation" in our payroll and re-send to ATO?

Re: Process workers compensation after STP sent to ATO

Hi @meldon

In order to correct it, you can either reverse the previously processed pay runs and then reprocess them again with the correct payroll category. Alternatively, you can also do a single payrun transferring the amounts from the incorrect payroll category to the correct one, and declare that one to the ATO.

Let us know if you have additional questions on this.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: Process workers compensation after STP sent to ATO

thanks Komal,  but we are worried about the attached MYOB notes for workers compensation stating that we should not include workers comp payments to ATO - we were advised to included these payments on the PAYG's each year. If we do not include the payroll/payg will not balance.  Can you help please

Re: Process workers compensation after STP sent to ATO

Hi @meldon

The information in that post is given by a user in regards to some components being reportable and some not. As advised by @Neil_M  in that post, we are unable to advise on whether workers' compensation needs to be reported through STP. You will need to speak to your accountant or the ATO to ensure you report those payments correctly. We are happy to help you process those payments in your software once you have clarified that.

Feel free to post should you have further questions.

Kind regards,
Komal
