Reducing full time employee hours

We have a full time employee working 7.5 hours x 5 days = 37.5 hours/week. With the COVID situation he will be be reducing work days to 7.5 hours x 3 days = 22.5 hours/week.

How do I change this arrangement in MYOB including reduced entitlements for effectively 2 days per week of unpaid leave?

Re: Reducing full time employee hours

Hi @Shaz65

Thanks for your post and I'm sorry to hear your business is one of the many impacted by COVID-19. There's a couple of options for recording your employee's reduction of hours:

  1. create an unpaid leave category and pay those 2 days as leave without pay so that you can track the number of days taken: Leave without pay
  2. change your employee to part-time. This help article will guide you through those steps: Changing an employee from full-time, part-time or casual

If you haven't already, it may be worthwhile to check with fairwork about your obligations with regard to unpaid leave at this time.

Good luck and please do let us know if you need further assistance.
