Unable to create employee cards in AR Plus

I'm just getting up and running on Account Right Plus again, running the 2018.1 release, and every time I try and create an employee card I get the "Somethings gone wrong and AccountRight needs to close" error message.

 

The error log looks like it would only make sense to a programmer - can anyone help?

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge

 

I see you are posting from New Zealand, we do have a known issue with AccountRight 2018.1 where a user will not be able to save or edit an employee card using a New Zealand company file. Generally, this is will be in the form of asking the user to enter a state, however, other errors may be generated. If you are encountering that error do ensure that you have selected a country (other than Australia) entered into the Profile tab. For example, enter New Zealand or another country.

Note: Having Australia or 'blank' will generate the message.

 

If you are still encountering that message and/or have a country other than Australia or 'blank' added are you able to provide the wording of that error log.

It's not a problem of being unable to save or edit the card, when I select the Employee tab in the Cards List, and click 'Add' to begin a new card, it gives me the generic error message. Is there another field in the general setup where I need to specify country that could be contributing to the issue?

 

I can PM the full error log file if you think it would be helpful.

Hi @Ratchet,

 

If you are receiving an error message when trying to add an Employee Card, the key to investigating this would definitley be viewing the Error Log it creates.

 

Can you please either reply to this post with the information display in the Error Log, or by sending me a Private Message with these details if you feel more comfortable sending this to us on a Private Medium.

Hi @Ratchet,

 

Thank you very much for the log. I can see that there is a background issue that is throwing this error, to resolve this we would need to apply a script over your datafile. 

 

If your file is online; Can you please send me a Private Message containing:

  • Your MYOB Serial Number
  • The Company File ID (Found by going to Help > About MYOB AccountRight)

This is so that I can find the relevant company file to apply the script to.

 

If your file is offline; Can you please send me a Private Message with the above information and your contact details to organise a datafile repair for this file.

Hi everyone,

 

We have been able to identify the cause of this issue. It seems to be caused by the software trying to validate the Expense Accounts in your Account List and if none exist, it will throw the same error as the one reported.

 

Resolution:

Create a new Expense Account.

 

I have reported this to our Development Teams to resolve in a future release.
