Unable to open Employee Card

I am unable to open one employee card.  Keep getting error "Somethings gone wrong Accountright needs to close".  Looking at previous support posts, it appears a script will need to be run on our file?

Please Help

Re: Unable to open Employee Card

Hi @BPA,

Thank you for your post.

So that we can assist with this, could you please provide the last 4-digits of your Serial number + Company File ID number? (Help > About MYOB AccountRight > Company File ID:__?)

Kind regards,
Sam

Hi Andrea (@BPA),

Thanks for confirming your details.

I have just run the script over your file, so you should now be able to open your employee cards successfully.

Let us know if the issue persists.

Re: Unable to open Employee Card

Hi Sam,

It's still doing it.

The file I am using is not on line, would that be why it didn't work?

Re: Unable to open Employee Card

Hi @BPA,

Thanks for letting me know.

On your account, I can see that company file #47 is reflected as 'Online'. Is this issue occurring on a backup of that file, and you've restored it offline?

Kind regards,
Sam

Re: Unable to open Employee Card

Yes, we work off line daily.

We needed to upload the file on-line when there was another issue.

Shall I put the file I am working on, on-line?

Re: Unable to open Employee Card

Hi @BPA,

Okay no worries, I can provide troubleshooting steps for offline files too!

Could you confirm if you have the PC or Server edition of AccountRight installed?

Kind regards,
Sam

Re: Unable to open Employee Card

Hi @BPA,

Thanks for confirming that.

I would first advise taking a 'back-up' of the file before running the below tool.

Running the HotFix Tool:

  1. Close AcountRight
  2. Download the following tool: AccountRight 2020.2 and later
  3. typically the Downloads folder on your computer
  4. Find the Hotfix tool zipped file (typically the Downloads folder on your computer) and select to extract the data - typically right-click and Extract All...
  5. Right-click AccountRight_Hotfix.exe and choose Run as Administrator
  6. Click Browse
  7. Locate the company file in question and click ok
  8. Click that you have a backup of this file
  9. Click Apply
  10. Once the hotfix has applied click Finish
  11. Close the tool and open the file in AccountRight as per normal.

Note: You may be prompted to re-confirm upon opening but this can be done online using the Confirm Online function.

Let me know how you get on and if you require further assistance.

Kind regards,
Sam
