Failure to prepare statement - CMN.ATO.AS.EM137

We can’t retrieve your activity statements from the ATO.

There are no activity statements matching your selection. Change your criteria.
If you contact the ATO, quote this code: CMN.ATO.AS.EM137

Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Re: Failure to prepare statement - CMN.ATO.AS.EM137

Hi @gusso

Thanks for your post. I Googled that error message and all I could find was that it may be related to an incorrect Branch number. I recommend checking that the Branch is entered correctly by going to Setup>>Company Information. If that doesn't resolve your issue you will need to contact the ATO to find out what is causing that error message.

Please let me know if you need further help.

Re: Failure to prepare statement - CMN.ATO.AS.EM137

Thanks Tracey.

While looking at your answer and the error page I realised that there were no ATO statements available when I tried to run the "prepare statement" process (not so easy to see because the list of statements under the error message appears ordered with the earliest statement on top and the most recent one at the bottom, unlike the list order you get when you are preparing a statement).

So I decided to wait until the ATO sent me the Online Activity Statement notification and then the the "Prepare statement" process worked without a glitch.

I suppose that the poor treatment of the ATO message by MYOB could be described as a non-fatal bug insofar as its handling of the response is anything but elegant, when a nicer message like "You have no statements pending" could be nicer than sending the user into a search for the meaning of the ATO cryptic message.

Case closed for me. maybe not for other users in the future.

Regards,

Gusso
